A Global Presence

SOTER has provided support to over 45 foreign countries working with U.S. federal agencies, various foreign governments, and local partners to strengthen national laboratory systems and maintain oversight of dual use research of concern (DURC).

Over the years, SOTER has partnered with government, research, and private sector stakeholders in multiple global regions, including Africa, the Middle East, Asia, and Eastern Europe, to support in-country efforts to strengthen national and regional capabilities for development and implementation of nation-wide biosafety and biosecurity legislation to provide oversight of dangerous pathogens and decrease the risk of their misuse.
